13:50 Moojdee

Roger Varian has a very healthy strike-rate with his occasional 2yo runners at Redcar and the well-bred MOOJDEE is taken to make a winning debut. The Mark Johnston-trained newcomer Spirit Catcher also has potential in his pedigree and is feared most, ahead of C&D debut winner Reel Rosie then the twice-raced Simply Gorgeous.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

14:25 Australian Harbour

Alethiometer and Maggie’s Joy have had two attempts already and, although the former won at Thirsk last time, the form standard they set is not daunting. AUSTRALIAN HARBOUR is probably the most likely to step up to winning effect second time out, so he gets the vote ahead of Maggie’s Joy. Mariha is also on the shortlist.

15:00 Gift of Raaj

A Class 4 at York last time did not show GIFT OF RAAJ in the best light but he impressed on his previous two outings and would have a good chance if back in that sort of form. Tajdid and Billy No Mates make the shortlist, in that order, having returned to form last time out. September Power also should run well.

15:35 Vintage Clarets (NAP)

The strongest option is VINTAGE CLARETS (nap), who has the best chance at the weights and whose trainer has won this race twice in recent years. Chipotle looks the biggest threat on these terms, while Symphony Perfect, Roman Dragon and Anadora are other suggestions for the shortlist, in that order of preference.

16:10 Safe Voyage

This looks a bit trappy. Motakhayyel has strong claims if he can get back near his best but his form has been up and down this season and he didn’t fire last time. SAFE VOYAGE has also had mixed results this term but this prolific winner made it 3-4 in Listed events when dominating at Chester in July and he gets the vote on his drop back in class. Others to consider are the 3yos Rhoscolyn and Bullace who both look interesting on their drop back in trip.

16:45 Copper and Five

Plenty have possibilities but the vote goes to the generally progressive COPPER AND FIVE, who recorded his third win since June when battling really well to beat five of today’s rivals over C&D last time. Tim Easterby’s Give It Some Teddy is feared most in his bid for a third win in this race, though his in-form stablemates Perfect Swiss and Delgrey Boy are also respected. Another to consider is the admirable 8yo Scottish Summit, who hit a personal best with his close call in a similar race at Doncaster three weeks ago.

17:15 Sagauteur

Carey Street did well to extricate himself from a tight corner at Beverley and he has another good run in him but SAGAUTEUR has not had much luck himself in his last two runs and this could finally be his day. Photograph might have run better last time, when the soft ground shouldn’t have been a problem, but perhaps fitting a tongue-tie will help.

17:50 Melody King

Paul Midgley has four interesting contenders including Thrilla In Manila, who made all when beating 14 rivals at Ayr last time, and Good Luck Fox, who went close in a Class 3 at Musselburgh three weeks ago. Ghathanfar finished close up in the Ayr Bronze Cup and is respected on his drop back in trip, while triple C&D winner Machree could rediscover her spark back at this track. However, the vote goes to MELODY KING, who made it 2-5 over this trip when swooping late in a tactical race at Sandown and is a big player again off only 3lb higher here. Thrilla In Manila is feared most.
