NEW TO PADDY POWER?

Salisbury 13:50 – EVERYDAY

Started at 50/1 but went into a few notebooks with his strong-finishing third at Newbury 12 days ago, leaving the impression he has even more to offer, and Everyday is taken to build on that promise and make the most of the weight he receives from Ascot-winner Wanees. Borntobealeader was narrowly in front of the selection at Newbury and ought to figure again, while Oasis Gift is a newcomer to monitor closely in the market.

Salisbury 14:22 – HANNIBAL BARCA

There are several promising types on show here, along with some likely-looking newcomers, but the vote goes to HANNIBAL BARCA, who made a positive start to his career at Ascot earlier this month. He was well backed on that occasion and, though likely to come into his own over middle distances in due course, he gets the nod with Ryan Moore now in the hot-seat and improvement forthcoming. Wodeton, Chester-winner Artaois and Conservative all possess potential, while Storm Castle could be the pick of the debutants.

Salisbury 14:57 – ISRAR

ISRAR has an excellent pedigree – by champion sprinter Muhaarar and out of the same connections’ Oaks winner Taghrooda – and he overcame considerable inexperience to make a winning debut at Doncaster earlier this month. He doesn’t hold any fancy entries but is clearly a very talented colt, the type to excel over middle distances next year, and he is fully expected to follow up under a penalty. Wind Your Neck In also looks above average and will pose the biggest threat.

Salisbury 15:32 – RIBHI

Withdrawn after bolting to post at Newmarket last week, but RIBHI previously looked a smart prospect when making a winning debut over this course and distance last month before not getting the rub of the green in a listed event at Doncaster. He is likely to progress further still and, provided he is better behaved now, he should take a fair bit of beating on these terms. The sole filly in the line-up, Amber Dew, is feared most having scored over course and distance earlier this month.

Salisbury 16:07 – ENDOWED

He lost his way for Mick Appleby, but as a result has fallen to an attractive mark, and took advantage of that on just his third start for Tony Carroll at Brighton last month. That was just an ordinary race, but Endowed was well backed to resume winning ways, and pulled clear of the runner-up in the process. A subsequent 2 lb rise is more than fair and he remains well treated on his old form, so is a strong fancy to follow up. Igotatext and Mamillius are feared most.

Salisbury 16:42 – Majestic Dawn

Last year’s Cambridgeshire winner MAJESTIC DAWN had to miss this year’s renewal because of fast ground, but conditions should be suitable here and he could be hard to catch. He was last seen running a cracker in the Rose of Lancaster Stakes at Haydock and should find this assignment much easier. Poet of Life failed to meet expectations on his handicap bow at Sandown last time but he looked a smart prospect in novices prior to that so is worth another chance, while the progressive Rebel Territory is another to consider.

Salisbury 17:12 – CEMHAAN

Proving hard to win with but he remains on an exploitable mark and it’s possible that this longer trip could eke out a bit more improvement given CEMHAAN has loads of stamina in his pedigree. Koeman stormed clear to record a five and a half-length victory at Hamilton last week, so commands plenty of respect turned out under a 4 lb penalty.
