Thunder Eclipse posted a career best when winning at Naas last month but preference is for the entirely unexposed GISELLES AUSIE who couldn’t have been much more impressive when coming from last to first on her debut and with progress highly likely, she could be hard to beat. Seeingisbelieving could be the best of the rest after an improved effort last time.
Some nicely-bred debutants on show, notably Married In A Fever, Nusret, Warren Beach and Montenegro but the safest route is to stick with proven form. Good Heavens and NAVAGIO boast a similar level of form, with preference for the latter, who has only had one start compared to the former’s two, so could improve more.
The Aidan O’Brien yard has won the last 10 runnings of this event and it has a strong contender again in the exciting Killarney winner Luxembourg. However, the father could be usurped by the son, as Joseph O’Brien’s SWAN BAY (nap) was impressive in winning at Galway last time and may shade it.
Punakha is rated 4lb lower than JEROBOAM but receives 5lb, so should in theory win but may lack the latter’s raw pace on the forecast fast ground, so the O’Brien colt is the selection to get the job done down to a trip which should suit well. Plezantlysurprised can hunt them up.
An open nursery but it’s worth noting that IT MIGHT BE YOU has been a little unlucky in both her starts in handicaps so far and she might be worth taking a chance on with this longer trip likely to play to her strengths. Princess Rajj should have the speed for this dropping from 7f and Magniffico only has a 1lb rise to cope with for his close second over C&D last time out.

This should be straightforward for ART POWER who takes a drop in class following some sterling efforts in Group 1 company this season, including at Haydock last time. Measure Of Magic and Power Under Me can give him most to do.
Several of these are consistent performers in big field handicaps but they might be vulnerable to SHE’S IN THE GAME. The progressive four-year-old filly arrives bidding for a hat-trick and she shaped like she would relish the return to this trip last time out. Punk Poet is another who will appreciate a return to 7f and Dragon Of Malta should be involved again after another creditable effort earlier in the week.
Time To Burn looks well treated from her opening mark and Miss Florentine is still feasibly handicapped after her recent win but they will probably be fairly short in the betting. It might be worth chancing LADY LEANORA who showed that she’s capable at this sort of level on her penultimate start and she should have another race in her from this mark if she settles better than she did last time out.
