17:05 Global Acclamation

The Patrick Chamings-trained GLOBAL ACCLAMATION only just held off some finishers in a similar race at Lingfield but that doesn’t tell the whole story because he blew that race apart by opening up a clear lead around the final turn. He’s a big player again off only 2lb higher here and gets the vote ahead of Queen Of Burgundy, who was a good third behind an improver over C&D last time. Sovereign Moon went close behind the selection three weeks ago and she’s respected, while others to consider are Bartat and First Verse.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

17:30 Tommytwohoots

Beryl The Peril needs keeping a close eye on in the market on her first outing for Kevin Philippart De Foy but the 14 stall is hardly ideal so the tentative suggestion is TOMMYTWOHOOTS, in the hope that he can recapture the form he showed when runner-up off 1lb higher in July. Mrs Dibble and Sea Fern are others to consider in a race where compelling contenders are hard to find.

18:00 Jenson Benson

Headley George, Agent Of Fortune, Lisdarragh and Bbob Alula all arrive in good form but this can go to the lightly raced 3yo JENSON BENSON, who got up in the final strides over 1m here recently and is open to further improvement now upped to 1m2f. Agent Of Fortune was second in a big field over C&D last time and is feared most.

18:30 Lousdpeaker

Four runners tie in closely with each other on course form this month. LOUDSPEAKER looks open to the most improvement, with Persian Royal feared most. Golden Mac is third choice, ahead of Damascus Finish who would have been higher up the shortlist but for being 0-5 now. Swilcan Bridge looks best of the newcomers and he needs a check in the betting.

19:00 Roulston Scar

This can go to ROULSTON SCAR, who put in a dominant display when landing the odds in a three-runner conditions event at Leicester last time and has leading claims again on this step back up in trip. Prince Of Abington has a tough task on these terms and the main danger is May Sonic, who has a record of 5-11 on AW and ran well under topweight in a Class 2 handicap over C&D last Thursday.

19:30 Crimson Sand

The most striking contender is CRIMSON SAND, who has form figures of 1112 on AW and hit another personal best with his close second behind a major improver over C&D 13 days ago. Second choice is Lion Ring, who has finished runner-up in his last two starts including with a bold bid in a 7f handicap at Lingfield last time. The other one on the shortlist is Nigel Nott, who is a triple sprint winner at this track and looks interesting on this drop back in trip/grade.

20:00 Mushirif

It may seem slightly surprising to hand the vote to the sole non-winner in this interesting 3yo staying handicap but MUSHIRIF looks to have got off lightly with just a 1lb rise for his latest second (pair clear) at Newcastle to a next-time-out winner. There’s also a chance he’ll pull out a bit more for the combination of a longer trip and cheekpieces, so he’s preferred to the hat-trick seeking Heath Rise and dual course scorer The Vegas Raider.

20:30 La Roca Del Fuego (NAP)

The way in which LA ROCA DEL FUEGO (nap) cruised along out in front over 6f here last time suggests he should be fine at this shorter trip and he is selected to defy the handicapper again and make it 4-4 at this track in 2021. Toplight is another who arrives in top form and he can follow him home.
