I’m going for Royal Patronage. He was a solid winner of the Acomb at York. He’s a good price for this one and his form isn’t a fluke. He goes first and he stays well too. He’s definitely improving so he’s worth getting behind.
I fancy Cruyff Turn. He did well at York two starts ago and he never got a chance to run at Ayr last week. He’s up three from his win at York in August and I like him to take on Noble Dynasty.
This looks a good race. There isn’t much between Sandrine and Zain Claudette, who faced each other on their last start at York. However, I can’t get away from Sacred Bridge. I loved her on her last start at the Curragh, where Colin Keane rode brilliantly. She lengthened and left the rest behind her and flew over the line. Sacred Bridge looks a rock solid filly.

I like Be Proud for Jim Goldie. He was second in the Ayr Bronze Cup last weekend but he hit the finish line at about the same time as those in the Ayr Gold Cup. He’ll do for me!
I’m all over the favourite Perfect Power. I can see why people would back Go Bears Go, Dr Zempf or Castle Star but I fancy Richard Fahey’s two-year-old. It’s interesting that Christophe Soumillon retains the ride. It looks like Paul Hanagan has lost the ride on Perfect Power after what happened at Goodwood where he got caught in the pocket. Perfect Power is too good for these and the rest are all pretty even.
I’m going for a big-price runner in Fastnet Crown for Michael O’Callaghan. He came home well on his last start at the Curragh over 1m. He’s ran over 6f previously but he’s crying out for the trip and it’s over 1m1f here. Fastnet Crown is worth an each-way punt in a race that’s wide open.
