Mark Johnston’s Royal Patronage was gifted a very soft time on the front-end at York in the Acomb Stakes and it looks as if he may well get an uncontested lead again. As we have seen many times good horses just don’t come back to the field on fast ground at this galloping track.
Richard Hannon’s colt looked thoroughly progressive in the early part of the season and was a decisive winner on his second start this term. Nugget is a model of consistency and looks as if he can have a productive back-end to the season. He’s over the slight injury that has kept him off the track for 147 days and can get competitive.
She has a very good claim of getting a slice of the action – at the prices. The horses who Eve Lodge beat last time at Kempton have gone on and given the form a very solid boost since the Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury and also the Flying Childers Stakes. Hopefully she will handle the quicker conditions and hit the places.

He’s been done by the way his races has unfolded this season. While he wasn’t ‘unlucky’ in France, the winner Perfect Power (who lines up again) was given an exceptional ride by his French jockey, Christophe Soumillon, who retains the ride. The division is wide open for somebody to stamp their authority on it it and it could be Asymmetric.
He’s a massive each-way price for the Cambridgeshire with Paddy also paying the extra places. His form ties in with a couple of these like Magical Morning and Astro King, who weren’t much further than three lengths in front of him at York.
He will love the faster conditions and he’s appears to be drawn on the right side of the track to boot.
