Turn Back Time should have more to offer at 1m and is taken to confirm last month’s Lingfield placings with Trans Montana, but narrow preference is for SIGNORINA MERISI. Mick Channon’s filly made a good start in nurseries at Thirsk recently and the stable has won this race twice in the last ten years.

14:55 Tiger Beetle (NAP)

Bowland Park could easily still be a handicapper on the up but he’s yet to prove himself at this trip/on the likely fast ground so he’s opposed with fellow 3yo TIGER BEETLE (nap). Time has shown that Sir Michael Stoute’s colt came up against some good horses in maiden/novice events at the start of the summer so an opening mark of 81 does not look beyond him on his return from a break.

15:30 Cottam Lane

A few are in with a shout here, but the vote goes to COTTAM LANE who displayed a terrific attitude when scoring over C&D before a good recent fifth at York, and he may still have more to offer for his in-form yard. Bowman is enjoying an excellent 2021 and Mark Johnston’s tough sort is second choice with both Oso Rapido and Mutanaaseq also on the shortlist in a competitive sprint.

The widest stall is a slight concern but the form of MODULAR MAGIC’s recent Haydock third has already received a couple of boosts so it’s likely he’s still on a favourable mark. Seneca Chief is another who arrives at the top of his game and can give David Barron’s representative most to think about.
