13:25 Super Six

The answer to this interesting novice hurdle might be dual bumper winner SUPER SIX, who was only beaten about 13l in the Cheltenham Festival bumper in March and now makes his hurdling debut. That said, It’s Good To Laugh will be a very tough nut to crack if able to transfer a chunk of his useful Flat ability to this code, while Gandhi Maker won his Irish point easily and could be anything.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

13:55 Olympus

Aliomaana looked unlucky not to win over C&D this month and her proven hurdling ability is an obvious lure but OLYMPUS showed good stamina on the Flat this summer and is given the verdict. Ultra Violet and Nastasiya also have enough Flat ability to make them of significant interest here.

14:30 One True King

Pay The Piper and Corach Rambler (preferred in that order) both have the potential to develop into very useful chasers this season but ONE TRUE KING is well handicapped on the hurdle form he showed last autumn and his stable’s good record at this meeting suggests he’ll be primed to run a big race on this debut over fences.

15:05 Clondaw Hollow

Findthetime looked unlucky not to win on last year’s Irish point debut and will need to be taken very seriously if strong in the betting before today’s rules debut but the one to beat is probably CLONDAW HOLLOW, who dominated a Downpatrick maiden hurdle from the front last month and ended up winning easily. Punxsutawney Phil should progress from his encouraging hurdle debut.

15:40 O Connell Street (NAP)

There might be some improvement to come from Makka Pakka, who was second over 2m1f on his seasonal/chasing debut in July and is unexposed over 2m4f, but O CONNELL STREET (nap) looked stretched by the 3m trip when second here on his chasing debut and today’s drop back in distance, combined with Jordon Gainford’s very useful 3lb claim, can enable him to go one better.

16:15 Uncle Henry

Go Fox gained his breakthrough hurdle success over this C&D 18 days ago and is respected but slight preference is for UNCLE HENRY, who was travelling menacingly well just behind the leaders before falling at the third-last flight at Cork last month. My Macho Man ruined his chance by jumping poorly here on his handicap debut in June but his earlier Kelso third was a very promising effort.

16:50 Head On

He needs to prove he’s effective on a right-handed track but there is no strong temptation to oppose lightly-raced 5yo HEAD ON, who is 6lb well in after his comfortable success at Worcester ten days ago and now bids to make it 3-3 over fences. Spider’s Bite went close over C&D six weeks ago and may fare best of the others.

17:20 Headscarf Lil

Fairlawn Flyer and Diakosaint are unexposed over hurdles and warrant close attention in the betting but it might pay to give another chance to HEADSCARF LIL, who didn’t fire on her latest outing but posted a good effort over C&D two starts ago. Shanroe Tic Tec was very consistent from last autumn until the spring and is second choice.
