Trident is the one to beat. He finished ahead of Asymmetric in his last start at Deauville in August and that’s rock solid form. Harrow is the biggest threat but side with the French if the odds aren’t too short for you.
Crowns Major had a good run at Leopardstown behind Ever Present in the Petingo Handicap over 1m4f. He looked like he lacked that ability to quicken on the shorter trip so stepping up in distance to 2m should really suit him. Eileendover is another one I have a soft spot for. She was disappointing at Doncaster earlier this month but she also steps up in trip. She won over 1m6f at Newmarket in August and Pam Sly’s filly is a big runner.
Baby Zeus runs for Willie Mullins in this one. He got stuck in a pocket at Galway and was drawn in the car park last time out at Leopardstown. He made a move late on but he was coming from too far back. He ran better than his finishing position that day. He’s drawn in stall nine which is a better draw. Baby Zeus should run a lot better than his last couple of tries.
Dani Barcelona is a sharp filly. She was second at Gowran Park earlier this month in her only start over 1m6f. She drops down to 1m4f here. She’s in good form at home, she’s handy and she’ll like the track. However, there’s a few in here who look destined to win maidens in McPherson, Rekero and Scrum Half. Along with those three, Dani Barcelona has a good each-way chance.
