14:45 Newmarket – Trident

Andrew Balding’s Harrow is hardy and on a four-timer with Oisin Murphy aboard. However, Andre Fabre sends Trident over from France and that could be very significant. He was second in the Group 1  second in a G1 last time in the Prix Morny to Perfect Power on good to soft ground and should appreciate the drop in class to Group 3 company.

15:20 Newmarket – Rhythmic Intent

Stuart Williams’ runner seemed to really enjoy the step up to 1m 6f last time at Doncaster, so fingers crossed he’ll improve again stepping up to 2m on Friday. Before that he was fifth to Sam Cooke at Doncaster. I just have a feeling that Rhythmic Intent and could be an improver as he steps up in trip.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

Listowel – 16:00 Oneiroi 

Oneiroi like to make the running and this 1m 1f trip could prove ideal. He was a good winner at Leopardstown two starts back and the winning rider that day, Ronan Whelan, is aboard again. He carried a big weight and started favourite for a decent contest at the Curragh last time and wasn’t disgraced in sixth. Let’s hope Whelan gets his fractions right again in a race we’re paying 4 places!

Listowel 16:35 – Big Challenge

We’re paying to 5 places in this 1m 4f handicap and it’s not hard to see why as it’s very competitive. Big Challenge is such a consistent performer having being first or second in his four starts this season. He steps back up to 1m 4f (won over the trip at Ballinrobe in July) and that should suit this brave, consistent, performer. He should be thereabouts at the business end again.
