16:40 – Impressions Dream
An absence for one from the in-form Clive Cox yard isn’t overly concerning and it’ll be disappointing if the lightly raced 3yo IMPRESSIONS DREAM can’t go very close against mostly exposed rivals. Emerald Fox, who couldn’t reel in one who got first run last time, is feared most ahead of Pentimento. The recent turf form of He’s Our Star offers hope for attempt number 17 of gaining an AW win.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
17:15 – Random Harvest
Although absent for 337 days, Ed Walker described RANDOM HARVEST as a “big, scopey, exciting filly” in an April Weekender Stable Tour and she can make up for lost time by making it 2-2 here. Barshaa is a solid option, while Angel’s Kiss could be about to take a sizeable step forward.
17:45 – Cresta De Vega
With Sydney Street running yesterday, those preferring form in the book should consider Brayden Star or Cabrakan, with both having shown enough to contend. CRESTA DE VEGA could be worth siding with on debut, though. He cost 170,000gns as a yearling, his brother won first time out and nearly 44% of Ralph Beckett’s 2yos here finish in the first three.
18:15 – Smiling Sunflower
Nottingham winner Golden Warrior had a tough assignment in a Listed race last time and he’s respected back in much calmer waters here. Exceling returns from a break and looks a likely improver upped in trip on her second start, while the most interesting newcomer is Leap Abroad who represents an in-form yard with a 27% record with 2yos this season. However, the vote goes to SMILING SUNFLOWER, who was pipped over 7f on Polytrack last time and is open to more progress on her return to sprinting.

18:45 – Elsals
The standard set by those who have raced isn’t overly high and this could go to the well-bred Shadwell newcomer ELSALS. Confidence will be boosted if he’s strong in the betting. Richard Hannon also saddles Monitor, who showed promise on last month’s debut before a heavy Listed defeat next time, but the main threat could come from Dreaming who was denied a clear run when an encouraging fifth at Ascot recently on his first start. Haydock third Sharesa is another to consider.
19:15 – March Law
Barn Owl is a good starting point given his improving profile but a chance is taken on MARCH LAW turning the tables from their clash at Beverley last month. A 9lb pull for 5l may not ordinarily be enough, but Mark Johnston’s representative should strip fitter today and was having his first run over a middle-distance trip there.
19:45 – Thematic
Perhaps THEMATIC can strike on his third start for Sylvester Kirk, having shown more in a C&D 0-70 last time. The form of Montaqem’s Lingfield third two runs ago looks sound for a 0-60 and he edges out 3yo Eagles Dare as the main danger. All three should be suited by a soundly run 1m4f around here.
20:15 – Pinball Wizard
The 3yo PINBALL WIZARD (nap) made virtually all to win from the widest stall over C&D last month and is well drawn to repeat that feat today. The in-form Secret Potion is an obvious danger now back up in trip, while Starter For Ten is another who can be thereabouts.
