On The Meter and Carole’s Tzarina are both capable of better in this sphere, while Splinter should go well if jumping more fluently today. GALATA BRIDGE was turned over at odds-on on his hurdle debut but it was still a fair effort and this useful Flat performer can go one better today.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
14:40 – Manor Park
This is trappy. The suggestion is MANOR PARK, who has been going great guns over hurdles and on the Flat in recent weeks. Glory And Fortune has won after a break and looks dangerous even with top weight, while Leroy Leroy and Constancio both have plenty going for them.
15:10 – Dogon
Romanor represents a solid proposition in his current form and remains on a very competitive mark, but narrow preference is for DOGON in the hope that it was a lack of stamina that found him out over further last time after travelling better than anything in the first-time blinkers. Court Jurado is next best.
15:40 – Impulsive One
Fred Bear sets the standard and, given how he whizzed around Stratford, this place should suit him down to the ground. However, if IMPULSIVE ONE can take to hurdling then he may have too much under the bonnet for all of these, and he’s certainly in the right hands. Aggagio could be interesting now with Gary Moore on the back of a morale-boosting Flat victory.
16:10 – Andapa
Bagan won a selling handicap quite stylishly last month, while Imphal has strong claims on today’s terms if able to replicate the form of his clear second behind Kilchreest Moon at Chepstow in April. However, the suggestion is ANDAPA, who looked in excellent nick when winning twice at Uttoxeter in the summer and got stuck in traffic on the home turn when only third at Stratford last time. Last year’s winner Sixties Secret also gets a mention.
16:40 – Air Hair Lair
Outlaw Jack and Valentine’s Turf (preferred in that order) could both be dangerous on their chasing debuts but the most obvious answer is AIR HAIR LAIR (nap), who posted a sound effort when second at Stratford last month and is yet to run a bad race over fences.
17:10 – Strensham Court
Sister Sophie appears to have a modicum of ability, while Neil Mulholland’s newcomer Harptree Hill will be of interest if strong in the betting but STRENSHAM COURT drew nicely clear in the closing stages at Stratford two weeks ago and has a good chance to follow up here.
