Ayr 13:55 – Juan Elcano
Euchen Glen is officially rated 115, which is top in this field. He carries a penalty and he was disappoint in the Ebor behind Sonnyboyliston. Juan Elcano, meanwhile, ran behind Mishriff in a Group 1. Juan Elcano is more than competitive at Group level and he’s dropping back to a Listed race here. He’s more than capable of winning and he’s probably the safest option.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
Newbury 14:15 – Moss Gill
I’m going for Moss Gill, who has blinkers on for the first time. P. J. McDonald is on board for Edward Bethell. He was disappointing behind Winter Power at York but that was a crazy pace. I’m going to forgive the last start and give Moss Gill another go.
Ayr 14:30 – Magical Spirit
Boardman showed some sprinkle of life on his last start at Chester after a couple of disappointing runs. He travelled really well at Chester until the final stages and he faded a bit. He could run a big race for Tim Easterby and Paul Hanagan. Despite that, I’m drawn to the Kevin Ryan horses and I like Magical Spirit. He hasn’t run since the start of August and Kevin Stott is on board. He’s rated 94 at the moment but he was rated as high as 98 this time last year. He won at the track last year and he could do it again.
Newbury 14:50 – Al Aasy
I just don’t know how you can go away from the favourite Al Aasy. I’m not actually his biggest fan and he was second to Pyledriver and Sir Ron Priestley on his last two starts. When he’s the best horse, he looks really good but when it’s a scrap, he gets beaten. He’s the best horse and he should win.
Ayr 15:05 – Canonized
Hala Hala Athmani won on her first start at Carlisle. It’s pretty stiff there and Ayr is completely different. Canonized is an interesting one for William Haggas with Paul Mulrennan on board. She went to Longchamp on her last start and she’s had plenty of runs. Haggas horses are holding their form at the moment and Canonized is a great each-way shout.
Newbury 15:25 – Moassess
I like Moassess. He’s won his last two at Kempton and he’s a decent price compared to Aramaic. Moassess is a pound better off and based on the maths, I like Saeed bin Suroor’s runner.
Ayr 15:40 – Just Frank
I’m going for Just Frank for Les Eyre and Paul Mulrennan. He won at Thirsk last time out and that was his first run over 6f since May. He’s up 5lbs now but three year olds have a chance. He’s in stall 18 which is a pretty good draw.
Newbury 16:00 – Wings Of War
I fancy Wings Of War in an each-way punt. He was off the pace in Kempton earlier this month but he stays well and Adam Kirby is riding for Clive Cox.
Ayr 16:15 – Hong Kong Harry
I’m on Hong Kong Harry. He’s won two of his last three over 7f and they were both at Ayr off ratings of 79 and 81. He ran at Lingfield last time out and finished third and going up to a mile could bring out the improvements needed.
