Blackrod is on a hat-trick so hopefully he has more to come. He has won over 5f and 6f, which should mean he has the tactical speed to keep a position and the stamina to see out the trip. He’s also won in a big field, so what’s not to like?!
Ger Lyons had a couple of entries and is sending this filly Head Mistress over. The stable had a fab Champions Weekend so should be brimming with confidence. The step up in trip won’t be a bother to her on a flat track like Ayr.
Ed Walker is bang in form and Popmaster, the stable companion of the antepost favourite Great Ambassador has just snuck in to the bottom of the race. He’s in form and improving. He’s only a three-year-old, which is a bit of a worry with the hustle and bustle of a big field, but there are plenty of positives.
A bit of juice in the ground could be exactly what Fearby has been missing the last couple of times. He should get it on Saturday so he’ll be hard to beat.
Clive Cox is another trainer in form. All of Dance Fever‘s runs have been over 7f but in every single one of those it looked like a mile would suit, let’s hope so.

Ayr 13:55 – Juan Elcano
Juan Elcano should win this. On his last two starts he’s won a listed race and been beaten a head in a Group 2. That’s good enough for me!
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
Newbury 14:15 – Tis Marvellous
Tis Marvellous has gone from handicap to listed with ease and this step up to Group 3 should be well within his grasp.
Ayr 14:30 – Blackrod
Blackrod is on a hat-trick so hopefully he has more to come. He has won over 5f and 6f, which should mean he has the tactical speed to keep a position and the stamina to see out the trip. He’s also won in a big field, so what’s not to like?!
Newbury 14:50 – Al Aasy
I was trying to find one to beat Al Aasy but as the ratings say, he’s the best in this race by far!
Ayr 15:05 – Head Mistress
Ger Lyons had a couple of entries and is sending this filly Head Mistress over. The stable had a fab Champions Weekend so should be brimming with confidence. The step up in trip won’t be a bother to her on a flat track like Ayr.
Newbury 15:25 – Sam Cooke
Sam Cooke has won over 1m and 1m4f so I’m thinking that 1m2f might just be his sweet spot! He’s big odds so a bit of value to find out if I’m right.
Ayr 15:40 – Popmaster
Ed Walker is bang in form and Popmaster, the stable companion of the antepost favourite Great Ambassador has just snuck in to the bottom of the race. He’s in form and improving. He’s only a three-year-old, which is a bit of a worry with the hustle and bustle of a big field, but there are plenty of positives.
Newbury 16:00 – Fearby
A bit of juice in the ground could be exactly what Fearby has been missing the last couple of times. He should get it on Saturday so he’ll be hard to beat.
Ayr 16:15 – Dance Fever
Clive Cox is another trainer in form. All of Dance Fever‘s runs have been over 7f but in every single one of those it looked like a mile would suit, let’s hope so.
Paddy Power’s best bets:
Ayr 13:55 – Juan Elcano
Newbury 14:15 – Tis Marvellous
Ayr 14:30 – Blackrod
Newbury 14:50 – Al Aasy
Ayr 15:05 – Head Mistress
Newbury 15:25 – Sam Cooke
Ayr 15:40 – Popmaster
Newbury 16:00 – Fearby
Ayr 16:15 – Dance Fever
