14:15 Clarets Glory
The Michael Dods-trained CLARETS GLORY has been there and done it over C&D and might be up to giving the weight away. Profit And Loss (second choice) and Purple Bling are the chief form threats, while a market move for newcomers Esken Rose and Mariha would bring them firmly into the equation.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
14:50 Liberation Point
It may pay to focus on low-mileage pair LIBERATION POINT and Ace Rothstein. The former made a very encouraging return for his new connections when seeing off a William Haggas odds-on shot in a 1m Ripon maiden last month and should have more to offer now stepping up in trip for this handicap debut.
15:25 Ey Up It’s Maggie
Tony Coyle’s EY UP IT’S MAGGIE has acquitted herself well in warm races at York on her last two outings and is selected to resume winning ways. The Rod Millman-trained pair Crazy Luck (second choice) and Silent Flame, who are closely matched on latest Salisbury form, may give her most to do.
16:00 Wynford (NAP)
Sound cases can be made for the likes of Flint Hill (second choice), Chocolate Box and Storm Chaser but it’s still hard to ignore the claims of WYNFORD (nap), who has been well and truly revived by a switch to Rebecca Menzies. He very much caught the eye at Musselburgh last time and can confirm he’s still on a favourable mark returned to a stiffer track.
16:35 Geminga
Zoom Tiger has a leading chance on his Newmarket third in the spring but has the odd question to answer at present. GEMINGA may be a better option, having run a highly encouraging race on her AW debut in November, and she gets the vote ahead of Charger and Enfranchise.

17:10 Tangled
The uphill finishes of Beverley and Carlisle have brought the best out of TANGLED (4-8 combined) so perhaps he can make a winning first visit to Pontefract. The lightly raced Barshaa (second pick) is likely to have a say on her handicap debut, while Perfect Swiss has done most of his winning on AW but his penultimate Beverley second shows he’s well capable off this sort of mark on turf.
17:40 Mr Orange
Rebel Redemption had a bit left in the tank after making all at Catterick last week and is respected but this might be fought out by two well-drawn course specialists. Round The Island is fitted with cheekpieces for the first time since his third off 4lb higher here in June but slight preference is for MR ORANGE, who has also been given a chance by the handicapper and who benefits from Oisin McSweeney’s useful 3lb claim.
