Whenever I’m in trouble at Fontwell I always turn to Gary Moore and I’ve done that again here. He’s got a fantastic record at one of his local tracks and Imphal is a horse I know well. He was a useful stayer on the flat a few years ago and he’s shown form over hurdles under Gary. He finished second at Chepstow in April and that form looks good. He makes his jumping reappearance here in a weaker contest and it looks a good opportunity for him. He’s got plenty of ability and this is winnable for him.
Tim Easterby is on track for his best ever year. They just churn out winner after winner and hopefully Strongbowe will be the next one. Strongbowe has a costly habit of breaking slowly but he’s ran himself back into form and he’s well handicapped. He was just beaten last time out and he’s ready to strike at Redcar. Safran is the obvious fear but I’ll stick with Strongbowe.
Chris Wall is always at the top of my list when I’m looking at these handicaps and he’s got Molly Shaw here, who won this over course and distance two starts ago. She’s well handicapped, she loves Yarmouth and we know Chris is deadly around here. Everything looks in place for Molly Shaw to win.
