16:10 Haydock – Fantasy Master

With a big field and some in experienced riders on show you are going to need a slice of luck on your side and also a bit of quality. FANTASY MASTER has the form in the book when chasing home Significantly at Ascot and a reproduction of close to that will see him go very well indeed. They have added some headgear to help him focus and also help the rider Erika Parkinson.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

16:35 Haydock – Manigordo

MANIGORDO is proving a little frustrating for new connections and he seems to be a little bit in-between distances at the moment. However, there is no getting away from the fact that he is very well handicapped and he’s been found a decent opportunity to end a frustrating run. He’s pretty flexible as regards ground conditions, so it being just on the easy side of good should prove no problem to him.

16:40 Curragh – Search For A Song

SEARCH FOR A SONG has been handled perfectly by her top-class trainer Dermot Weld for another repeat success in this particular contest having had a perfect sharpener over 10 furlongs. That race was always going to be on the sharp side, but seems to tee her up perfectly for this particular contest. Twilight Payment set a decent standard and he is likely to be all the rage in the market, however the selection has been specifically aimed at this yet again.

17:20 Musselburgh – Haizoom

Haizoom has a good, solid staying pedigree and it is no surprise to see her step forward dramatically when upped to this distance at Ripon last time. She wasn’t cheap by any stretch priced at 23,000 Guineas at the Horses In Training sale, but if they can get her to climb the ladder a little bit more, it could prove to be money well spent. There is a good pot on offer here and she is in receipt of plenty of weight.

17:30 Haydock – Exminster

EXMINSTER was still a little green when winning on his racecourse debut at Redcar and was probably undone by the undulations on the track at Ripon last time, along with still being a little babyish. This flatter, galloping track will suit him better and punters could get their money back here as he was an expensive failure last time. It’s been a tremendous season for his young rookie trainer Edward Bethell.

17:45 Curragh – Bear Story

BEAR STORY was a big eye-catcher for me last time up in Group company in the Royal Whip Stakes over course and distance. Admittedly, that run was not missed by the handicapper. But, even given a fair old rap over the knuckles, he can still be competitive in this premier handicap.

He should get the ideal set up with a fast paced to run at and he’s been handed a tidy inside position, so won’t be giving anything away on the way round. Last year‘s winner Mirann looks primed to go well, but he is there to be shot at and the selection could be an each-way shout to boot.

18:00 Haydock – New Exceed

NEW EXCEED has not had many tries so far as she is only having her fifth lifetime race here. As in keeping with her pedigree, they have continuously tried her over further. But, for all the world, it looks as if this dropback in distance is ideal for here.

She has shown plenty of natural pace to lead in a couple of races and that may well be the plan in this one. However, there are a few other pace angles in here and owing to the fact that we haven’t seen her much, we cannot pigeonhole her as one-dimensional just yet.

18:25 Haydock – Liberation Point

LIBERATION POINT made no mistake on the first try for the new stable when winning 20 days ago after being picked up for 16,000 Guineas at the Horses In Training sale. originally he cost £160,000 and was seen on only a couple of occasions for the previous handler. Michael Appleby’s team appear to have found the key to unlock some of that potential and he goes into his first handicap on a workable mark of 82.
