Fernando Vichi

Trainer: Donnacha Aidan O’Brien Jockey: Oisin Murphy

Leopardstown listed winner before ninth of 11 to Hurricane Lane in Irish Derby (50/1) at the Curragh. Good second to Interpretation back in listed grade at Leopardstown but this is a very tough ask.

High Definition

Trainer: Aidan O’Brien Jockey: Frankie Dettori

Looked top-class prospect at 2yrs but well beaten in Irish Derby and disappointing sixth in Great Voltigeur at York where he looked ungainly under pressure. Late supplement. Cheekpieces tried now.

Hurricane Lane

Trainer: Charlie Appleby Jockey: William Buick

High-class colt who made it 5-6 with six-length win in Grand Prix de Paris at Longchamp. Earlier took Irish Derby at the Curragh and only defeat came when third in Derby. Will stay 14f+. One to beat.

Interpretation

Trainer: Aidan O’Brien Jockey: Hollie Doyle

Improving son of Galileo who made it 3-3 this summer when making all in 14f listed race at Leopardstown. Has more to come but this is a different ball game.

Mojo Star

Trainer: Richard Hannon Jockey: Rossa Ryan

Excellent runner-up in Derby at Epsom before fifth in Irish equivalent at the Curragh when hampered 2f out. Simple task when opening his account in Newbury maiden last time but no forlorn hope here.

Ottoman Emperor

Trainer: John Patrick Murtagh Jockey: Ben Martin Coen

Has made rapid strides, and completed a four-timer in Gordon Stakes at Goodwood by ½l from Sir Lucan. More still to find but he’s a genuine sort who will have no problems staying this longer trip.

Scope

Trainer: Ralph Beckett Jockey: Rob Hornby

Winless in 2021, but he was greatly improved when fifth in Great Voltigeur Stakes at York. Longer trip promises to be to his benefit but he has plenty to find on form.

Sir Lucan

Trainer: Aidan O’Brien Jockey: James Doyle

Landed Navan listed race in May and took his form up a notch when in the frame in Gordon Stakes at Goodwood and Great Voltigeur Stakes at York (cheekpieces on). More to offer as stamina is drawn out.

The Mediterranean

Trainer: Aidan O’Brien Jockey: W. M. Lordan

Steady progress in defeat since winning his maiden, cheekpieces on when fourth in Grand Prix de Paris at Longchamp then runner-up in Great Voltigeur. Lively outsider with step up in trip sure to suit.

Youth Spirit

Trainer: Andrew Balding Jockey: Tom Marquand

Chester Vase winner who arrives on back of good efforts to make the frame in Gordon Stakes at Goodwood and Great Voltigeur Stakes at York. He has bit to find on form but this stamina test should suit.
