Television, Gamigin and Albert Camus are closely matched on their Down Royal form from last month but it might be worth taking a chance on POWERFUL KIERAN. He’s achieved more than the rest of these on the Flat and his yard have a good record with dual purpose performers.
The consistent Erins Benefit is a good place to start and the drop back in trip is in her favour. Shanacoole Dasy will go close if reproducing her latest effort at Down Royal. A good standard is set though by BETTY ZANE, a Cork bumper winner and just touched off in a Thurles maiden hurdle in March when last seen.
An interesting contest in which quite a few come into the race in form. Included among those are Down Royal maiden hurdle winner Aldo The Apache, Sligo runner-up Hello Pilgrim, ultra consistent veteran Youngnedofthehill and recent runner-up here Different Beat. The one to beat is the progressive LET HER FLOW, a winner at Bellewstown and was unluckily pipped late in a 2m6f contest here last month.
This looks like a good opportunity for ABBEY MAGIC (nap) who has improved steadily since joining Henry de Bromhead in 2018 and she is probably very well handicapped on her return to this sphere from her much reduced hurdles mark. Fame And Joy was impressive last time out and any rain would be in her favour but the in-form Whatucallher is probably the main danger after a big run again last time.

With rain forecast, it might be worth chancing PREMIUM PACKAGE who produced a promising chase debut on soft earlier in the campaign and hasn’t been suited by a quicker surface twice since. Russian Diamond should be involved with a clear round of jumping and Scarpeta is a danger to all if he’s as good over fences as he is hurdles.
Quite a few of these have chances of some description. Handicap hurdle winner Father Jed along with Save Us Avis and Garrai Phaidin at the top of the handicap have decent chances. The one to beat is clearly recent dual handicap hurdle winner FAVORI LOGIQUE off a chase mark 21lb lower than over hurdles.
Not a strong event with several of these out of form. The tentative vote goes the way of OLD TOWN ROAD who posted his best effort for some time on his latest outing and he’s still relatively lightly raced over fences. Rippon Lodge is an obvious threat if he handles the shorter trip and last time out winner Drummullagh Rocky has been given a workable revised mark.
Eco Pete and Hey Johnny arrive in good form but they both have to carry penalties and MERLIN GIANT is the preferred option. He was only narrowly denied at Galway when last seen and that form is working out very well.
