16:45 – Addie Boo Boo

Rhinoplasty made a bold bid when runner-up over 7f here last time and she’s strongly respected on this drop back in trip, but slight preference is for ADDIE BOO BOO, who went close in a Chelmsford novice 18 days ago and is open to more progress on her nursery debut. Another nursery newcomer Say Grace looks interesting on her return to sprinting, while the other one on the shortlist is Chanson D’Amour, who has been generally consistent including with placed efforts in both her nurseries.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

17:15 – Sovereign Prince

This looks a good opportunity for Godolphin’s SOVEREIGN PRINCE, who has a progressive profile and sets a good standard on his second behind an impressive rival who made all at Nottingham last time. Mark Johnston’s Rainbow Colours is the main danger, though Space Cowboy ran well to a point at Newbury last month and looks interesting dropped to 6f on his second start. Another to keep an eye on is the newcomer Methinks, who has several Listed winners on the dam’s side of his pedigree.

17:50 – Serenity

This can go to the William Haggas-trained SERENITY, who has leading form claims on her two promising placed efforts over 6f and is open to more improvement on this step up in trip. The pick of the other runners with experience is El Felicia, who left her initial form behind when a heavily backed third on Polytrack at Lingfield two weeks ago. The most interesting newcomer is Wooders Dream, who is a half-sister to a useful 2yo winner and represents a yard with a 22% record with juveniles this season.

18:20 – Imperial Eight

The drop to a sharp 7f after doing her best work late over galloping 8.5f turf tracks on her first two starts prevents maximum confidence in IMPERIAL EIGHT, but the form level of those rivals with experience is largely unprepossessing. Velocity, another with stamina to spare at 7f, and the mildly progressive last-time scorer Imagine Freedom, are preferred of the remainder in that order.

Wolverhampton Races

18:50 – Nadein

Some of these give greater grounds for confidence ahead of their respective steps up in trip than others, and firmly in the positive camp is NADEIN, whose initial mark isn’t conspicuously generous but whose near-miss at Ffos Las two starts back could hardly have been better advertised by the winner since. Flamingo Rose, surely capable of better still over this trip and beyond, is next most preferred.

19:20 – Nibras Gold

A competitive race in which the vote goes to course winner NIBRAS GOLD, who rallied well to go very close off only 1lb lower in his hat-trick bid at Bath last time and is open to more progress on this step up to 2m. Mark Johnston’s recent Catterick winner Overthink is feared most on his first run at this trip, though Blazon recorded his sixth AW Flat win when scoring over C&D last time and he’s respected off his revised mark.

19:50 – Zartaj

Silver Bubble has run well on Tapeta and Polytrack in both her handicaps and has claims if she can find a bit of extra spark. Invincible Soldier is a key player if he can transfer his turf form back to AW, while there are two unexposed handicap newcomers who need watching in the market including Michael Bell’s well-bred filly Holy Bee. However, it might be worth siding with ZARTAJ, who made some promising late headway at Kempton three weeks ago and looks interesting on her step up to this trip. Last night’s Windsor winner Liberated Lad could go well provided he’s not inconvenienced by the tongue-tie being left off.

20:20 – Colinton

Most of these have something to prove and the one that stands out is the progressive COLINTON (nap), who has knuckled down well to score at this track in his last two starts and may well be able to strike again back in trip to make it 3-3 in cheekpieces. The pick of the opposition could be Dew You Believe, who had an excuse back at 7f last time and is a big player if he can recapture the form of his win here on his stable debut last month.
