14:20 – Minella Trump

Lord Napier returns from an absence on a good mark, while Hewick made a bright start to his chasing career in July and will be dangerous if able to bounce back from last month’s duff effort. However, the one with least to prove is MINELLA TRUMP, who looked as good as ever when winning over hurdles here in May and exploited a good opportunity with minimal fuss when back over fences last month.

14:55 – Kavanaghs Cross

Bright Eyed Eagle put in a good front-running shift when third at Cartmel in July and ought to give it another good shot here but the pick is KAVANAGHS CROSS. Iain Jardine’s 6yo weakened out of contention in the closing stages of last month’s stable debut here but certainly didn’t run badly that day, and his earlier second at Kilbeggan is arguably the best piece of hurdle form anything in this field has recorded. Shake Him Up makes his debut for Peter Bowen here and is also considered.

15:25 – Diligent

Oscar Rose is on a challenging mark even if she can shrug aside her poor run over hurdles last time. Yccs Portocervo is hard to knock in his current form but DILIGENT can do little wrong right now and, even with a 15lb hit for his last win, he could easily run his rivals ragged once more.

15:55 – Guido Reni

A solitary victory in 40 career starts hardly bodes well for GUIDO RENI but he’s running well at present, unlike his rivals. Dalileo has hinted at winning potential as a jumper and he’s second choice. Orchestral Rain is not obviously well handicapped but could still make his presence felt.

16:30 – Island Nation

Olly Murphy’s ISLAND NATION (nap) looks on the upgrade and is down in class today after finishing third in a C&D Class 2 three weeks ago. He’s preferred to the consistent Sword Of Fate and last Tuesday’s third Go Fox.
