Dual hurdle winner CAMPROND has performed with great credit in some very competitive handicaps since the spring and appears to have been found a very good opportunity to add to his win tally here. Recent course winner Percy’s Word is sometimes deficient in resolution at the business end of his races but he’s pretty consistent and ought to run well again.
Hooper has done very well over hurdles in recent months and has a good chance at today’s weights if he takes well to chasing but it’s very difficult to oppose fluent-jumping front-runner PRESENTANDCOUNTING, who has already won four times over fences this season and continues to impress.
The most appealing option in this modest event is BAGAN, who was probably unlucky not to win a chase off today’s mark here two starts ago and had been in pretty good form over hurdles before that. Furthermore, Jason Dixon looks very good value for his 6lb claim against other conditionals. C&D winner Falberto is second choice, ahead of Princess Ruby.
Rhythm Is A Dancer gained the first of this season’s two chasing wins over C&D and is respected but slight preference is for LICKLIGHTER, who is 3-7 over fences for his current stable and can benefit from today’s drop back in trip. Franz Klammer has won his last three over C&D and will presumably be ridden very positively again today but he’s against considerably stronger opposition this time.
Triple C&D winner Jamacho has become very well handicapped but the class act in the field is HANG IN THERE, who dominated from the front over C&D in July and can do so again today.

The hefty weight-for-age allowances on offer always make 4yo chasers tempting at this time of year and Ambassador is no exception on his debut over fences. However, ROMANOR (nap) is 2-2 since the exaggerated hold-up tactics were abandoned, runs this track very well and will be suited by today’s fast ground. Darling Du Large is next on the list.
The newcomer Paddy Husseys Taxi and Irish point recruit Minella Plus could have big runs in them but STRENSHAM COURT makes the most appeal, for all that he may have been flattered off a steady pace here in June.
