Haydock 13.45 – My Oberon
I’m going with My Oberon, the four-year-old instead of Lord Glitters who’s now eight years old. Lord Glitters is an admirable horse but at eight, he can’t really get any better. That’s not the case with My Oberon. He’s got blinkers on for the first time and I hope that will be the difference after his below-par run at York last month.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
Kempton 14.05 – Wings Of War
I’ll side with Wings Of War but it’s not a major fancy. Both Wings Of War and Nymphadora ran at York, with Nymphadora running in the stronger race. Wings Of War was drawn on the wrong side of the track that day and ran well. He did drift to his left though which was a slight concern. He’s the main pick but it’s not a strong fancy.
Haydock 14.20 – Praiano
I’m on Praiano. I watched him last time out at Sandown where he lost against Oceanline, who re-opposes here. Praiano never got going that day and Oceanline was well ahead by the time he made a slight move. He was unlucky. It was a big field and it took him a while to pick up but if he can get out early enough, he can take this one.
Kempton 14.40 – Hukum
I’m with Hukum in this one. If there’s any doubt it’s that he’ll be a better horse when he goes back up to 1m6f. His York run in July was his best performance. The further he goes, the better he’ll be.

Haydock 14.55 – Noble Masquerade
I’m going for Noble Masquerade. I watched him just get chinned by Cormier at York in July. He then came back down in trip and won at Windsor, beating Leroy Leroy. Going up to 1m6f will really suit Noble Masquerade, who is improving. Hollie Doyle rides for Eve Johnson Houghton and I fancy Noble Masquerade.
Ascot 15.10 – Candleford (Each Way)
Candleford for William Haggas as an each-way bet is my pick. He won last time out over 1m 2f and he’s stepping up to 1m4f here. Candleford is unexposed and is worth a go. I don’t fancy the favourite Wahraan as he was caught out by the handicapper after winning at Newmarket in July.
Haydock 15.30 – Starman
This is a no brainer and I’m all over Starman. He was brilliant in the July Cup and he’s got the same kind of conditions here again. Deauville didn’t suit him last time out and I don’t see anyone else that can beat him.
Ascot 15.45 – Cliffs Of Capri
I like Cliffs Of Capri and 7f definitely suits him. He ran well here in a handicap when fourth to Danyah on King George day. Dougie Costello is on board for Jamie Osborne and is a solid pick.
