ETERNAL GLORY made all over C&D in July and, despite a poor showing at Newmarket 20 days ago, it would be no great surprise were she to prove hard to pass again. Kit Gabriel’s third at Windsor last time looks a solid piece of form, so he’s a definite player, and Chelsea Anne may well get back on the up having found things conspiring against her last time.

Connections of SIX STRINGS have taken advantage of the better terms in this optional claiming handicap and that may well prove to be decisive in his quest to snap a run of placed efforts. Shelir drops in class and is feared, along with Strait of Hormuz.

BOOKMARK proved better than ever when runner-up at Chelmsford last week and a repeat of that performance may well suffice from the same mark. Broughtons Mission is an unexposed handicap debutant so is second choice.

19:00 – Blissful Song

Plenty in with a shout. BLISSFUL SONG was much improved when scooting in at Catterick last week and is fancied to defy a 6 lb penalty. Motawaazy also arrives on the back of success at Catterick at the same meeting so is feared most ahead of Nottingham victor Nearly A Gonna and well-weighted Singe Anglais.

KING OF STARS lasted long enough up with the pace at Ascot last month to think he’s back in good nick and with stall 1 a big plus, it’s easy enough to envisage him making a very bold bid. Paul Midgley saddles 3, with Ventura Express and Indian Sounds definite threats.
