16:55 – Peterborough

All of these have become unreliable and it’s hard to predict which ones will warm to the task today. PETERBOROUGH ran pretty well when second of three finishers over 2m here recently and that performance can be upgraded, given his jumping lacked fluency and the ground was softer than ideal for him. He’s still on a good mark and should be fine over today’s longer trip. Darcy Ward is second choice.

17:30 – Chez Hans

There is no strong temptation to oppose CHEZ HANS, who is only 3lb higher than when winning a 2m2f handicap fairly comfortably here last month and has since added a C&D novice to his very impressive haul of wins this year. Solstalla is also in prime form and may provide the main danger.

18:00 – Manning Estate

Having rejoined David Dennis, Flying Verse was back on song and travelled well throughout before winning over fences at Bangor a week ago. He competes off a 4lb lower hurdle mark here and can’t be opposed with any confidence but perhaps it might be worth chancing MANNING ESTATE, who was out of form when last seen in March but won after a break last year and sports new headgear today. Recent Stratford winner Tel’Art also features prominently in calculations.

18:30 – Sizing Cusimano

Delight Of Dubai is likely to give another good account but habitual front-runner SIZING CUSIMANO (nap) can collect his third win of the season. Colin Tizzard’s 8yo has been in rude health and went down fighting off this mark last month when narrowly denied a Uttoxeter hat-trick.

19:00 – Pokari

There might still be more to come from POKARI, who won in good style over C&D last summer and returned from a layoff with a very encouraging run here in June. He gets the vote ahead of Sopat, who seems to be coming back into form. Bold Reason and Court Dancer also make appeal. Cryogenics looks interesting on today’s stable debut, while handicap debutant Sergeant is completely unexposed on a sound surface in this sphere.

19:30 – Ruthless Article

Eglantine Du Seuil has made a pretty good start to her chasing career this season and is still very well handicapped on her best hurdling form but RUTHLESS ARTICLE fended off a very progressive rival to win at Aintree in June and will be very hard to beat if in a similar mood here.
