Yankee Stadium has a good bit in hand on ratings, with last month’s two handicap efforts solid enough, but he’s a maiden after 13 starts who has plenty of prior convictions at short prices and who can pull hard. SHE’S NO ANGEL, who’s lightly raced and turned in easily a career-best effort for her in-form yard when winning last Wednesday, is put up against him.

Shamlaan won well last time but the race fell his way under a 7lb claimer and he’s 8lb worse off with beaten-favourite Tinkerstar, so clearly has more on his plate. Jen’s Gift should do better for a yard enjoying a good season with its 2yos but there could well be more to come from the better-drawn GNAT ALLEY off what looks a sensible opening mark.

Briardale led from start to finish when winning over C&D last month, while Intercessor made all for both his wins. Neither has to lead but there’s a good chance this will be a proper test, which would suit infrequent winner Sudona, who stays further, and also STRAWMAN, who’s been ridden patiently for this summer’s two wins.
15:05 Mark’s Choice (NAP)
Now 4-8 over C&D after winning the Great St Wilfrid Consolation 17 days ago, MARK’S CHOICE (nap) can defy a 4lb rise in the weights. I Am A Dreamer, who was fourth in the same race, is an obvious danger now 5lb better off with the selection.
15:40 Rum Runner
No shortage of potential pace in here, with hard-pulling pair Saisons D’Or and Antagonize happpiest in front and Bankawi said to have been unsuited by not being able to dominate last time. Dreamseller has done well around this time of year in previous seasons and is a player after a better effort last week but this could be set up for RUM RUNNER, who’s had excuses since coming away with a well-handicapped winner over C&D early last month.
16:15 Near Kettering
An easy 2m such as this should be within range now for NEAR KETTERING, who easily landed a gamble over hurdles at Market Rasen recently and returns to the Flat on his last winning mark. The consistent Teescomponentsfly is an obvious danger.
