A near 12-month absence sounds a note of caution but it’s very hard to see past LEGEND OF DUBAI when he was good enough to push the high-class Lone Eagle so close on his final appearance. Golden Crusader is next best on form, though Tendentious is the one to have shaped best this year.

This can go to SPIRIT LEVEL (nap) after he ran well in a good race for the grade at Lingfield last time, despite not looking that at home on the track. Ivadream can put up a bold show even with top weight and Hurricane Helen is also a must for the shortlist.
