This should revolve around the two standout form contenders in Tadita Twitch and SUMMER’S DAY. The former sets a good standard on her peak efforts and is strongly respected on this drop back in trip/class. However, preference is for Godolphin’s well-bred filly, who built on her promising debut when runner-up at Ripon three weeks ago and is open to further progress.
Top of the list is PORTERINTHEJUNGLE, who has really got her act together with three wins in a row this summer and never looked in any serious danger when making all in a Class 4 event over course and distance last time.
Second choice is Rhyme Scheme, who is only 2lbs higher than for her breakthrough win here 18 days ago and should make another bold bid with William Buick booked. Third on the list is Aweemaweh, who had an excuse when stepped back up to 1m last week and still looks feasibly treated on his two wins this season.
Preference is for TWISTALINE, who finished well to go close from a tough draw in a Kempton nursery 12 days ago and is open to more improvement on this step up to 1m. Most of the others have plenty to prove, but Dashing To You caught the eye with his late headway in a higher grade at Nottingham last time and could pose a serious threat – particularly if he can sharpen up his act at the start.
The most striking contender is JUNOESQUE (nap), who made it 6-11 at this track when completing a course and distance double last time and is only 2lbs higher here in her hat-trick bid. The in-form Platinum Prince is feared most in new headgear on this step back up in trip.
Although, Mahanakhon Power got back on the scoresheet when making all at Chelmsford on Saturday and would be respected if turned out quickly under a penalty.
It’s hard to find a solid option in this trappy race, but JACK RYAN was a close second over course and distance on his penultimate run and is a major player if he can recapture that form on this big drop back in grade. The pick of the opposition could be I’m Mable, who may not have handled soft ground at Lingfield last time and still has potential after only five starts.
A tricky race in which it might be worth siding with Roger Varian’s DUSKY LORD, who wasn’t beaten far at Kempton in his sole two-year-old run and had several excuses that day. He’s an interesting contender on his comeback and has plenty of scope for progress on this second start.
Tawaazon could raise his game on this drop back in trip and he’s feared most, though another twice-raced gelding Giveit Some Orange has claims on his debut second here last month and he shaped as though this switch to sprinting could suit last time.
This is an interesting rematch between the 10-year-olds Boom The Groom and SHAMSHON, who had a good battle over course and distance 19 days ago. The former should make another bold bid off an unchanged mark, but Shamshon recorded his 16th career win with that brave success last time. He may be able to get the better of his old rival again.
