Aidan O’Brien’s superstar is likely to face a big challenge from Group 1 winner Wonderful Tonight, although the four-year-old’s best form has been on soft or heavy ground and the going at York is currently described as good.
A field of seven has been declared and we’ve assessed all the runners and riders in this year’s Yorkshire Oaks.
Trainer: Aidan O’Brien Jockey: Ryan Moore Age: 3 Weight: 8st 12lbs
Massive improver in 2021, winning the Oaks at Epsom (soft) by a remarkable 16 lengths. Readily followed up in Irish equivalent at the Curragh. Hard to beat.
Trainer: David Menuisier Jockey: William Buick Age: 4 Weight: 9st 7lbs
Highly progressive on going softer than good, including a Group 1 success on Champions Day last October. Excellent winner of Group 2s at Royal Ascot and Goodwood this season but ideally needs rain.
Trainer: Roger Varian Jockey: Jim Crowley Age: 3 Weight: 8st 12lbs
Debut winner at Nottingham and improved plenty to win listed race at Newbury on return. Unlucky not to still be unbeaten after a luckless run in Ribblesdale at Ascot. Has a bigger performance in her.
Left previous form well behind tackling fast ground in Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot, running out an all-the-way winner. A lot went her way that day (runner-up Eshaad met trouble) and more needed again.
Trainer: Ralph Beckett Jockey: Rossa Ryan Age: 4 Weight: 9st 7lbs
Smart performer who produced a career best when 7-length winner of an Ascot listed race on return. Has failed to match that form subsequently, however, and firmly up against it.
Trainer: Aidan O’Brien Jockey: W. M. Lordan Age: 3 Weight: 8st 12lbs
Group 3 winner over 1m as a 2-y-o and useful form in defeat this term, notably when placed behind Snowfall in Epsom/Irish Oaks. Well behind Wonderful Tonight at Goodwood latest, however.

The fillies take centre stage on day two of the Ebor Festival in the Yorkshire Oaks at 3.35pm.
Snowfall – the standout filly of the Classic division – is hot favourite to add another high-profile victory to her increasingly impressive CV.
