However, a few of these could take a step forward now switched to Tapeta and perhaps the most interesting of those is RHINOPLASTY. A half-sister to a Tapeta winner, her best performance was her latest one and her pedigree suggests this extra furlong should suit on AW/nursery debut.

This looks a warm race of its type. Tylos has shown plenty of ability on turf and his breeding suggests he will take to this new surface, as should To Everest who returns to the track quickly after chasing home a couple of above-average types on his Ripon debut. However, Godolphin introduce a couple of fascinating newcomers and Charlie Appleby’s AL JADDAF looks especially interesting. From a stable that has a fine record with 2yos first time out, he is bred to be useful and an entry in the Royal Lodge suggests he is held in some regard.
18:05 Verreaux Eagle
It’s tempting to side with Anjella off the back of another all-the-way success last week in what’s proving a productive summer, but the widest draw places her at a marked disadvantage with VERREAUX EAGLE, another who’s effective when able to get on with things and given every chance to do just that here from stall one. The form of the Dunlop filly’s sole performance on Tapeta to date (over C&D) also makes for rather better reading than any of Anjella’s away from turf.
18:35 Thunder Flash
Effectiveness on Tapeta is assumed rather than proven and the penalty won’t be easy to overcome, but the consistency of THUNDER FLASH this past 12 months counts for plenty in a line-up where few look obviously poised to progress past him and others simply aren’t in much form. Tazaman and Amlwch posted their closest finishes last time and are preferred of the rest, in that order.
19:05 Asdaa
The hat-trick-seeking Roman Mist clearly holds strong claims as she is still 1lb well-in under her penalty and has gone well here before. C&D winner Visibility should appreciate the return to this trip, while the unexposed Ghost Rider looked to be on the way back here ten days ago. However, the vote goes to his stablemate ASDAA who has a recent C&D success to his name and should appreciate this return to 0-80 company.

It will be no surprise if Dew You Believe takes another step forward on this second outing for Mick Appleby and upholds last week’s superiority here over Kyllinga, even back down in trip. The form of the short-head C&D second SEND IN THE CLOUDS (nap) recorded last month has received a number of timely boosts, however, and today’s assignment looks a shade easier than either that or the Yarmouth handicap that followed it. Mrs Dibble can prove next best, if not racing too freely.
20:05 The Tron
It’s hard making cases for the majority of these. THE TRON and Odd Socks Havana both have to prove themselves at 7f but they’re the ones with the least to prove overall. Arlo’s Sunshine has the form to feature should some new headgear have a positive effect.
