16:30 Hi Meh Darling
Iain Jardine’s filly HI MEH DARLING was ahead of three of today’s rivals when second in a valuable Musselburgh nursery 23 days ago and, with this stiffer 5f very likely to suit, she gets the vote. The fourth from that race, Ninky Nonk, should also benefit from the increased emphasis on stamina here while the seventh, Come Quick, was persistently denied a clear run and can get much closer to the target this time. However, the biggest threat to the selection may come from Bicep, who drops back in trip after running well from the front over 6f at Newbury on his nursery debut.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
17:05 Obee Jo (NAP)
This can go to OBEE JO (nap), who won in pretty good style over C&D in July and didn’t really enjoy the run of the race when running very respectably on both subsequent appearances. Recent Ayr winner Captain Jameson is feared most but a good case can also be made for Singe Anglais, while today’s drop back in trip might pay dividends for Motawaazy.
17:35 La Pulga
King Of York, Wootton’Sun and Teddy’s Profit (preferred in that order) have all shown more than enough to suggest they can win races in due course but LA PULGA sets a useful standard and he seems very likely to be suited by today’s slightly stiffer stamina test.

18:05 Captain Corelli
None have standout claims. Perhaps this will be the day that CAPTAIN CORELLI gets off the mark and he gets the marginal vote ahead of Possible Ambition, Cool Dandy and Key Look in that order.
18:35 Come On Linda
Cases can be made for a few of these but COME ON LINDA has posted two good efforts since fitted with blinkers this month and is taken to reverse recent C&D placings with Strangerontheshore. Nigel Tinker’s filly is still respected, though, and is next on the list ahead of Zoravan and Mac Ailey.
19:05 Tres Speciale
A promising second on her belated debut, TRES SPECIALE may well go one better with that run under her belt. Recent Wolverhampton winner Swoon is the obvious danger, although Corra Linn is also well bred and should improve as she gains experience.
19:35 Makeen
Poet’s Magic has been in career-best form in recent weeks and ought to go well again but an uncontested lead seems unlikely today and one with more potential is MAKEEN, who made a very pleasing start to the season for his new stable in June and remains lightly raced. Tommy Taylor is on a very long losing streak but it will be interesting to see whether Grant Tuer can rejuvenate him.
20:05 Buford
It’s hard to get away from BUFORD, who was evidently very well suited by the significant step up in trip when winning over 1m2f on his handicap debut at Doncaster on Saturday and runs off the same mark here. Three-time course winner Detective has made very good progress in recent months and looks best of the rest. Tarnhelm is an each-way option to consider.
