A previous winner three starts ago at Lingfield, BAILARICO was narrowly denied by a neck when last seen in a handicap at Bath in mid-July. Cheekpieces are back on again here and the gelding the only runner for the Greatrexs (Warren and Thomas) this Tuesday. I expect this one to be thereabouts at the business end of the race.
DEW YOU BELIEVE was very disappointing at Brighton when last seen. But, prior to that race, when running here at Wolverhampton he was fourth and only beaten by 1-and-a-half lengths at a massive price of 33/1. Stepping up in trip should suit and the gelding is running for Michael Appleby for the first time. Dew You Believe is the also only ride at the track for Theodore Ladd, who is flying with a 23% strike rate in the last two weeks, so it might be worth taking that hint.
AL TARMAAH was blinkered the last day when running a respectable race, finishing fourth of nine in a handicap at Yarmouth at the start of July. He was just unable to sustain the effort on that occasion.
He is running here at Lingfield for the first time, but has the assistant of top jockey Oisin Murphy on board for the first time too. Murphy is flying with a 28% strike rate, and with Al Tarmaah having its first run for the Lee Carter stable, I expect a much-improved effort from this runner.
INFLAMED has been off the track for 22 months since landing back-to-back wins in handicaps at both Kempton and Wolverhampton for Ed Walker. The gelding will need to hit the ground running for his new yard after a long absence. If he does, he should have an each-way chance for Simon Pearce.
