17:55 – Retirement Beckons

Linda Perratt has a strong hand with her three runners, notably the last-time-out winners Chinese Spirit and RETIREMENT BECKONS. The former landed a similar event at Carlisle on Monday and is respected under a penalty, but preference is for Retirement Beckons who is only 2lb higher than for his win at Hamilton and was successful off a higher mark in this race in 2019. Iain Jardine’s Havana Go turned things around with his close third last time and has claims if he can back that up, while another to consider is Flying Moon.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

18:25 – Bridgetown

The most striking contender is the lightly raced 3yo BRIDGETOWN (nap) who travelled strongly for a long way when going close in a Doncaster maiden in June and is open to more progress off what looks a fair mark on his handicap debut. Captain Jameson has finished runner-up in his last two starts and could pose a serious threat, particularly if rain arrives. Ballyare has done most of his racing at 5f but he kept on well for a close fourth over C&D last time and has each-way claims if he can build on that.

18:55 – Royal Countess

Preference is for course specialist ROYAL COUNTESS, who surged clear over C&D on her penultimate run and could resume her progress on this step back up in trip. Second choice is Red Bond, who made some eyecatching late headway over 1m here last time and looks interesting for a yard that has won this race three times since 2016. Third on the list is Ayr Poet, who has been generally reliable during his productive campaign this season and still looks on a workable mark.

19:25 – Intriguing Lady

The two runners with experience haven’t achieved a great deal and it might best to concentrate on the newcomers. Bitcoin Ranger makes quite a bit of appeal on paper, while No Guts No Glory also has plenty of speed in her pedigree, but the vote goes to INTRIGUING LADY, who is out of Group 3 winner and represents a top yard with a good strike-rate with juveniles this season.

19:55 – Rose Bandit

The one that appeals most is the resurgent ROSE BANDIT, who completed a double with her unchallenged win here last month and bounced back from blip when going close over 5f at Hamilton last time. Lord Of The Glen has held his form since his Musselburgh success in May and he’s feared most, though the 3yo Lola Rebel didn’t get any luck in a similar race last week and could be interesting if she gets the breaks this time.

20:30 – Klopp of The Kop

Tilsitt and King Of Tonga gave it a good shot when third in 1m handicaps last time but they could get involved in a duel for the lead on this drop back in trip and it might be worth siding with KLOPP OF THE KOP. This 4yo took a while to get off the mark but he came good with a strong-finishing win off only 2lb lower over C&D last time and that form has been boosted by the runner-up since. Tilsitt is feared most, ahead of the selection’s stablemate King Of Tonga.
