Michael Appleby has a good record with new recruits, so it could be worth chancing COBRA EYE – who was rated 40lbs higher at the start of last season. His stablemate Mostallim is also high on the shortlist under Oisin Murphy, while Thomas Lanfiere arrives at the top of his game having won three of his last four starts.

Not a strong race, so a chance is taken on DAY TRADER, who has yet to win a race. But, he did too much too soon in blinkers last time and with that equipment off, he will hopefully settle better this time. Rhyme Scheme and Pure Perfection head the opposition.

CAMERILY JOE has already showed much-improved form in just a couple of starts for this yard and this looks a good opportunity for him to quickly resume winning ways having only just failed off this mark at Yarmouth recently (due to go up 4lbs). Otago and Porterinthejungle both arrive in top form having won their last two starts, so rate the main threats.
