13:20 Goodwood – Shark Two One
I’m going for a big each-way shot who has been slightly out of form in Shark Two One, who’s trained by Richard Fahey and Joe Fanning is on board. I’m hoping he can return to his form of last season. If there’s a little cut in the ground that would help as well.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
Goodwood 13:55 – Royal Scimitar
I’m siding with Clive Cox’s Royal Scimitar. He won a maiden this time last year at Newbury over 6f. He then went up in trip and ran over 7f and then 1m. His last start earlier this month at Newmarket was over 6f and he ran well. He’s only three, he’s back to 6f and maybe that’s the right trip for him. He could improve after having a sharpener at Newmarket a couple of weeks ago.
Newmarket 14:10 – Symphony Perfect
I like Richard Hannon’s Symphony Perfect. He’s high in the weights and a top-end horse in a Nursery race can be the ones to follow. He had a great run at Newbury on his last start behind Gubbass and he can follow that up.
Goodwood 14:30 – On To Victory
I’m sticking with Alan King as his horses have been in great form so On To Victory is my pick. I know he’s top weight but he’s worth a go. Tom Marquand rides, which is a good booking. On To Victory was second on his last start here in May over 1m 3f behind Hukum. He’s back up to 1m 6f and he’s won over further. We know the horse handles the course so that’s a bonus.
Newmarket 14:45 – Save A Forest
I’m going for Save A Forest based on her run in the Epsom Oaks. Divinely finished just ahead of her on that day and I really rate Aidan O’Brien’s runner, so I’ll get behind Save A Forest.
Goodwood 15:05 – Wonderful Tonight and Divinely (Each Way)
I fancy Wonderful Tonight to win, she’s in a different league to the opposition and the short price will reflect that. That leaves an each-way chance and I like Divinely. She was third at Epsom in the Oaks and was fourth at Ascot when she didn’t get much of a run. She came back to the Curragh to finish second behind Snowfall in the Irish Oaks. She’s a good each-way shout.
Goodwood 15:40 – Motagally
I’m going for one going up in trip in Motagally. I know the 12-year-old Caspian Prince beat him on his last start but that was 5f in Beverley. This 6f trip at Goodwood will suit him. Jim Crowley could do no wrong at the meeting last year. He’s not quite having the same luck this year, but he’s worth a go.
