13:20 Goodwood – Quintillus
QUINTILLUS had some solid two-year-old form in the book, but had been lacking that real aggression in his run style so far this season, prior to an excellent third in the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot. He looks reasonably well weighted for this and William Buick, who is chasing hard for his first jockeys’ championship, is in flying form.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
13:55 Goodwood – Royal Scimitar
ROYAL SCIMITAR showed fantastic form as a juvenile, but looks to be struggling to recapture that in his three-year-old campaign for the 2021 season. However, he bounced back to form in no uncertain terms last time at the July meeting at Newmarket. He was drawn on the wrong side, towards the far side of the track but has a few pace runners around him now. He also looks well treated off just 95.
14:10 Newmarket – Symphony Perfect
SYMPHONY PERFECT ran a massive race at Newbury in the Super Sprint Stakes just behind Gubbass, who himself then ran a cracker in the Richmond Stakes just behind Asymmetric. That form is absolutely rock solid, and he looks to exploit a very lenient looking mark of 86 now.
14:30 Goodwood – Aaddeey
AADDEEY seems as if he will appreciate stepping up dramatically in distance after running well over a much shorter trip in the John Smith’s Cup at York. David Egan, who has been in flying form at the Glorious meeting, gets the call on board. If this horse retains his finishing kick stepping up in trip for the very first time, he’s going to be tough to beat.
14:45 Newmarket – Yesyes
YESYES doesn’t have the experience of some of the more fancied runners in the line-up, but her profile is looking very progressive. She managed to carry a penalty to success at Lingfield last time and the way she hit the line suggests that this distance is going to be absolutely perfect for her. She still has a massive upside and is only stepping onto the racecourse for her third lifetime start.
15:05 Goodwood – Wonderful Tonight
WONDERFUL TONIGHT looks the class act in the field and has already been successful at the highest level, This should merely be a warm-up prior to an Autumn campaign that could see her rounding off off her season in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.
15:40 Goodwood – Justanotherbottle
Having run with credit a couple of times already in this big handicap, JUSTANOTHERBOTTLE looks massively overpriced to do so again. He has legitimate excuses for his last three runs of this campaign and his ability to handle the track should not be underestimated.
He has slid in at the bottom of the handicap and admittedly, we have some young sprinters who may well get the prize, but Paddy paying the first 6 home, he looks a big player for a place at a big price.
