16:35 – Ena Baie

A tentative vote goes to ENA BAIE who may have needed her recent Killarney run. Her previous Punchestown third was respectable, and she may prove too good for the progressive Call Me Dolly. Jordan Gainford’s claim boosts the form-chance held by Make My Heart Fly. Nodoubaboutthat makes some appeal as an each-way option.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

17:10 – Dark Voyager

A quality novice. The fact that he has proven himself around this course sways the verdict in favour of DARK VOYAGER, who returned to form to get off the mark over hurdles at Tipperary last time. Annie G looks a big danger, while Off Your Rocco surely has improvement to come and should be involved.

17:45 – Lasparas

A winner of his point and on bumper debut for these top connections, LASPARAS can make a seamless transition to jumping hurdles. There is a lot of dead wood in the race and stablemate Rayapour is respected for all that he was disappointing on his jumping debut at Kilbeggan. True Faith didn’t handle Kilbeggan at all on debut and should be more at home at this track while Desir Du Large has form at a higher level and would have a chance if running to his best.

18:15 – Top Moon

For all that Samcro has become hard to predict, he is a dual Cheltenham festival scorer who brings a lot a class to the table and is partnered by one of the best claimers in the business. He seems to be best fresh and can go well here provided there isn’t too much rain. JP McManus is responsible for five of the 22 declared runners. The Shunter has achieved more than TOP MOON but the latter is a coming force and has hinted at bagging a major prize such as this for a while. There was a lot to like about his victory at Wexford and he could be hitting form at the right time. Last year’s runner-up Royal Rendezvous appears to have been laid out for this again and rates the pick of Willie Mullins’ six.

18:45 – Dalton Highway

Classy Flat handicapper DALTON HIGHWAY comes here off the back of a fine performance at the Curragh and Dermot Weld clearly means business with the booking of Jack Kennedy. Guiri is another horse who reached a good level on the Flat and should be open to further progression over flights while Klassy Kay, Summer Tide and Teescomponentsyess also make appeal.

19:15 – Benefit Run

Henry de Bromhead sets a real puzzle by saddling seven runners here. Raya Time and Zarkareva may prove best of the group. In an open race the each-way suggestion is BENEFIT RUN who should improve from his recent return over hurdles and is a much better chaser in any case. Andalusa is noteworthy as the sole runner from Willie Mullins.

19:45 – Monishter Are Mwee

The enigma here is Mary Meehan, 100-1 when in rear on her only start for her previous trainer but now chosen by Patrick Mullins over Memorable Daise who has shown definite potential. It may be worth taking a chance with MONISHTER ARE MWEE, whose Punchestown debut was better than her two subsequent runs. Point-to-point winner Copper Nation may improve from her Tramore run. The once-raced trio Getaway Rua, Shesadream and She Is Electric also have potential for improvement.

20:15 – Merlin Giant

It looks like MERLIN GIANT (nap) has been laid out for this race and Patrick Mullins rides him in preference to a pair from his father’s yard, so he should be difficult to beat. One of that pair, Derracrin, can go well, while others to note include Legal Neverending, Esperti, Eternal Story and Helisone.
