Racing is well and truly back, people. After a storming day 1 on Tuesday, Goodwood has never looked more glorious following the long-awaited return to capacity crowds in East Sussex.

The Sussex Stakes is the big race of the day and Poetic Flare gets the nod from four of our panel but Matt Chapman is the outlier and he’s tipped up an each-way play, Snow Lantern.
Here’s his verdict: “Snow Lantern is a sound each-way bet against the favourite Poetic Flare for Richard Hannon and Jamie Spencer. She settles so much better now.”
However, there’s a reason Poetic Flare is so fancied, as Jason Weaver explains: “He’s a short price, but it’s very hard to oppose Poetic Flare for the mighty Jim Bolger outfit.”

Poetic Flare gets the nod from Timeform, Jason, Mick and Paddy in the Group 1 Sussex Stakes at 15:35 and he’s tied with Fearby in the race before, the Molecomb Stakes, with the most tips on four. Paddy’s the odd one out at 3pm with the rest of his esteemed panel going for Ed Bethell’s charge.
