Roger Varian is an excellent 7-12 with 2yos here and SED MAARIB, who did much better when upped to this sort of trip behind a useful winner at Salisbury, sets the standard. Fellow Newmarket raider Alpine Lady is the obvious danger after a pleasing debut at Carlisle, with Golden Sands stuck out in stall 13.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?

Lalipour got well behind before coming home nicely over this trip last time and could use some rain, while it’s late in the day for Archive to be running in first-time headgear. Flower Power should go well but the vote goes to MAJOR SNUGFIT, who has two wins and a close fourth to his name in three runs here and whose latest Uttoxeter effort over hurdles is readily forgiven.
14:05 Ayling
Showtime Mahomes sets the standard, having not been beaten far in the Super Sprint last time, but he’s conceding weight all round from a wide draw. Better was expected of Rockprincess on her recent C&D debut and she’s a possible improver in receipt of the sex allowance, but AYLING is fancied to turn things round with Le Beau Garcon from Catterick, having been drawn widest of all that day but landing the rail position this afternoon.
14:40 Ava Go Joe (NAP)
A 7lb rise will test Show Yourself as she bids to make it 3-3 over C&D, most likely from the front again, especially as it means she’s 4lb worse off with AVA GO JOE (nap) on recent running here, and the latter is taken to turn things round after an unlucky defeat last time. Saras Hope, who made a pleasing comeback early in the month, will appreciate any showers.
15:15 Cuban Dancer
Just the four runners but this seems unlikely to become tactical, with Crown Princess and Commonsensical each making all the running last time, and Saturday’s easy Newmarket winner CUBAN DANCER ridden prominently for both his victories. The last-named is the one to beat under a penalty.

With Langholm and Los Camachos in the field this should be run at a good pace. Proud Archi and Confrontational can go well but HARVEST DAY could be the answer. She found 6f on the sharp side at Haydock last time but this should be much more to her liking.
16:25 Estrela Star
Cheekpieces have had a positive effect on ESTRELA STAR and this is less competitive than the Newbury handicap he won last Thursday, with only four of the 11 runners rated higher than 50. Any rain would suit Dandy’s Angel and Le Bayou.
