Nadein is very likely to make a race of this but the one to beat is VALLEY FORGE, who succumbed only to a very good prospect and was well clear of the others when second at Doncaster 18 days ago.

15:40 Siyata

The one with most potential is well-bred 3yo SIYATA, who didn’t see out 1m after racing too freely in a Newbury novice last month but made a promising debut over 7f there in April and now drops back in trip for her handicap debut. Shadow Angel moves up in grade today but she may also benefit from this drop back in trip and is second choice.

16:15 Hesperis (NAP)

This can go to Yarmouth winner HESPERIS (nap), who looked likely to follow up at Epsom 19 days ago but ultimately found 1m4f on good to soft ground just too taxing. She’s back on a quicker surface here and the drop back to 1m2f ought to suit. There should still be a bit more to come from Beowolf, who is earmarked as a likely danger, while Dancing Master seems sure to appreciate today’s return to a sound surface.

Anjella completed a double with an emphatic success at Leicester this month and her subsequent defeat on slower ground is not viewed harshly but slight preference is for well-bred topweight ASADJUMEIRAH, who won when upped to 6f last month and probably still has potential. Mummy Bear is next on the list.

There ought to be more to come from lightly raced 3yo Morty, who raced too freely on his latest outing but still has the potential to build on his Ripon win two starts ago. However, FARD ran very well from the front when second in a big-field 6f handicap three weeks ago and, with Oisin Murphy enlisted again, he gets the nod in the hope today’s drop back in trip pays dividends.
