Apple Crumble was impressive when winning a mares bumper at Punchestown and she is another one with strong looking claims, along with Aboutagout, but MARICRUZ could well have the measure of the lot of them. A recent winner at Navan, she had a lot on her plate on her only start so far over hurdles and will find a more suitable assignment.
An open handicap and a few come into the race in form. Recent winner Youngnedofthehill, the consistent Shantou Warrior and Sweet Sixteen make plenty of appeal. Preference is for UNION PARK, who will be hard to beat here if reproducing his fine third to Call Me Dolly in a competitive handicap at Punchestown in May.
Both Asserted and Mars Harper come here on the back of maiden hurdle wins and Staging Post is respected, but PERSIA looks like an ever more decent recruit to novice hurdles and looks the one to beat.
A number of these have solid chances, with Demi Plie one of those likely to make the market and others such as C&D winner Oscer Romero making a bit of appeal. The selection is RAIN IN SPAIN(nap) who continued her good form with a convincing success in a mares contest at Cork recently and ticks most of the boxes here.

A weak contest and it would be no surprise if any of the newcomers proved good enough to have a chance. Rightful Mind is going the right way among those that have run, but this could well be at the mercy of LISPENDENSE if he can come close to the form of his Leopardstown run at Christmas.
