TWICE AS LIKELY wasn’t well placed when below form at Chepstow last month and she can have that run ignored. A three-time winner on the all-weather, she has to be taken seriously from a low draw for a yard in form and now only 1lb above her last winning mark.
Breezyandbright is reasonably lightly raced and in form so he looks to be a big danger, while Signorinadoro would be of interest if the market speaks in her favour.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
18:35 Mystery Fox
MYSTERY FOX is clearly well regarded given he was strong in the market and started favourite for his debut at Yarmouth back in May, but he was slowly away and was found wanting for know-how. He has been given plenty of time since and he should prove hard to beat granted normal improvement in a race which shouldn’t take much winning. Boondoggle and Manhattanville both won novice events at Newcastle at the end of last month and will be hard to keep out of the frame.
19:05 Aljady
This looks a competitive sprint handicap, and a chance is taken on ALJADY – who has contested very competitive handicaps and pattern races since going close over this course and distance back in April.
He should find this easier than his recent challenges and looks the one to beat now 1lb lower in the weights than for his last handicap win. Stylish Performer progressed rapidly on tapeta earlier in the year and he should appreciate the switch to polytrack, so has to be respected too.
19:35 Epidemic
EPIDEMIC continues to progress for this yard, winning handicaps at Windsor and Leicester and just going off too hard when second to another thriving sort at Pontefract last time. His overall profile remains a positive one and he appears to have been found another good opportunity here. Luna Wish usually goes well at this track, so she’s also considered with Velvet And Steel.
20:10 Long Tradition
LONG TRADITION has progressed with each start so far and has been gelded since finishing second at Windsor last month. He was beaten only by a useful three-year-old filly, who he was conceding lumps of weight to on that occasion, and may have further improvement to come.
He looks to have very strong claims on the form shown both last time and over course and distance back in May, and will take all the beating. Voice of Wisdom is a promising filly, and she may go close under a penalty for her Bath victory.
20:40 Chief Of Staff
CHIEF OF STAFF opened his account at the third attempt at Brighton last time in first-time cheekpieces and his first start since undergoing a gelding operation. He also has the pedigree of one that should go on improving for a while yet, so he’s taken to defy an opening mark of 80 returned to this longer trip.
Toronado Grey is a notable opponent returning to polytrack and Hala Joud can’t be dismissed having done well to get up late at Lingfield.
