The suggestion is NIAGARA who, judged on breeding, should be suited by the return to 5f and be up to winning a race of this nature. Obvious danger Cuppacoco is second choice, ahead of Sambucca Spirit, Fossos and She’s A Deva.

16.00 – Sands Chorus

On ratings SANDS CHORUS faces a tough task off topweight but current form is often a more crucial factor in these races and there can be no knocking him on that score. He’s the pick ahead of Embolden, who arrives on the back of a win in a Leicester claimer. Godolphin cast-off Gold Ring is an interesting contender on his belated debut.

16.35 – Riches and Rubies

The well-bred filly RICHES AND RUBIES was a promising second at Beverley on her recent handicap debut and is selected to go one better today. Fellow 3yo Estad also has potential in his pedigree and hasn’t enjoyed much luck in handicaps. He’s second choice, ahead of Bankawi then Tie A Yellowribbon.

17.10 – Stormin Norman

Things haven’t gone the way of STORMIN NORMAN the last twice and there can be optimism a win is imminent. The step up in trip is worth a go with the lightly raced 6yo Gift Of Raaj and he is feared most, while Contrebasse, Justified and Teescomponentsfly can also be considered.
