I know The Entertainer was well fancied when he won first time up at Navan, but he has possibly gone back a little bit since then. You can excuse him a little for his second start at the Curragh over the ground though, but he was no match for Go Bears Go after that. It’s BEAUTY INSPIRE for Ger Lyons and Colm Keane all the way in this one for me.

14:50 Measure Of Magic

I’m going with the Johnny Murtagh entrant MEASURE OF MAGIC in the Paddy Power Sapphire Stakes. When you go back to Navan in April, she beat Logo Hunter there. Logo Hunter did have a run in Cork in early April, while that was Measure Of Magic’s first run of the season. She then went to Cork himself and beat Russian River.

After that she travelled to Ascot and was third in the Commonwealth Stakes behind Campanelle last month. The form of that race was bolstered by Dragon Symbol’s performance in the July Cup, he ran a cracking race in that. Meanwhile, Logo Hunter has been pot hunting in Ireland. But, Measure Of Magic has dipped her toe into Group 1 water and was placed. I believe she’s improved since he that race with Logo Hunter, and she is the one to beat here.

15:25 Divinely – Betting w/o Snowfall

DIVINELY came home well enough behind Sherbert Lemon at Lingfield. She got caught in a pocket at Epsom and would have been a good second behind Snowfall. Again, at Ascot she didn’t get as good a run as Nicest and never got daylight to take off. Divinely can turn the form on Nicest, and that would be good enough to finish second.

16:00 Grammata

Gulliver always seems to run well at the Curragh for David O’Meara. He was second her to Romantic Proposal off a rating of 103 and is now back down to 99, so there is no doubt that he is worth considering in the Paddy Power Scurry Handicap. Speak In Colours is dropping down the ratings, but hasn’t looked the same horse to me this year.

I thought Fastnet Crown did well to win here the last day after being drawn on the stand’s side and Leigh Roche took him to the far side, so he had to do a lot of running. He got a 9lbs penalty for that win and is drawn in stall 18 today.

But, I’m going to chance one at a price. I’m slightly worried about the stamina, but watch GRAMMATA for Denis Hogan. She is on the right side of the track in stall 19 and Izzy Clifton rides her. She only has 7st 13’ on her back and is an absolute featherweight in this. I believe she might have been looking for this step up in trip too. If she stays, she could take a bit of catching.
