16:00 – Butterfly Island

Last month’s Barrier Trial meeting proved a great success for Joseph O’Brien and that has transferred to the track so there must be respect for his representative here De Vega’s Warrior, who showed plenty of speed when a close third in his Trial. However, BUTTERFLY ISLAND (nap) sets a pretty high standard on his debut Navan third, in a maiden which couldn’t have worked out much better and he gets the vote ahead of Chestnutter, a good third behind a subsequent Group 2 winner on her Fairyhouse debut.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

16:30 – Dixie Bluebell

Intriguing but a little trappy so DIXIE BLUEBELL, who came good at Fairyhouse, seems much the most solid, though Jeroboam probably has more than enough ability to win a race of this nature. Going on Fairyhouse he won’t be reversing the form. Shahaada is the dark one despite two disappointments at three.

17:00 – Fit For Function

Narrowly beaten at Fairyhouse last week, FIT FOR FUNCTION is due to go up 2lb in future events and can strike before that from a good draw here under a claimer he gets on well with. Bellewstown winner Red Heel has a wide draw to overcome but could take some pegging back if getting across early, while others to consider are Fastman and Brave Display.

17:30 – Suwayra

A typically fascinating EBF-funded Leopardstown maiden. SUWAYRA could be the answer. The Caravaggios, Madonnadelroasrio and Punta Di Piedi, will be popular but Cairde Go Deo is feared most. Hymn Book Two could out-run her price.

18:00 – Leo De Fury

A superb renewal that is really hard to weigh up as Japan surely wants further ideally. Maker Of Kings’ rider Colin Keane might well attempt to dictate, in which case his chance might improve hugely. That would not improve the chance of LEO DE FURY, who tends to be held up in his races and run well fresh. Sinawann has a great chance on ratings but he could well blow it out wide by racing too fresh again.

18:30 – Gaheris

Lord Luker hold the best claims on form but has not looked to be exactly crying out for this step in trip and he could prove vulnerable to an improver such as GAHERIS, who got this trip well at Gowran when just failing to get up on what was only his second start. Mcpherson looks next best.

19:05 – Simply A Dream

Ballydoyle newcomer Drummer Girl is a full-sister to the smart Lancaster House who cost over 2m Euros, but the fact she begins over this trip and holds no fancy entries suggests she hasn’t been showing that much at home so could be worth opposing. Cycladic ran well enough on her seasonal debut to suggest she should be a force at this trip, but it may pay to side with SIMPLY A DREAM, a sister to Hunting Horn who finished her race strongly at the Curragh over just short of this trip and could well have more to offer.

19:40 – Punters Poet

Twice a winner over hurdles since last running on the flat, the progressive PUNTERS POET could be on a exploitative mark here, and gets the vote ahead of in-form rivals Third Avenue and Park Row, with Guido Reno also considered.
