I’m going with Howling Wolf in this one but he’s not a horse without risk. He hasn’t won in two years and his running style can sometimes be a slight problem but he’s shaping up really well. He did well on his last two starts and he’s coming into form for James Barrett. The lightly strong pace will suit him and he’s on a very workable mark at present.
Again we’re looking at an outsider as Japan sets the standard here and is likely to be favourite but Visualisation comes into this one on a real roll. He’s gone from strength to strength this year and won three times. He also finished second behind Foxes Tales at Ascot in June. In receipt of 10lbs, he’s worth backing. He’s a likeable horse, who’s progressive and really effective on the trip.
Boom Boom Boom is a horse who hasn’t had a lot of races but he shaped up really well last time out when finishing fourth at Tipperary in June. He went like the winner that day but he made his effort on the wrong part of the track and the three that beat him were on the opposite side. He’s only gone up a pound for that and Cathal Byrnes is in flying form. Colin Keane is a great jockey booking too and that could make the difference.
