14:20 – Taj Alriyadh
TAJ ALRIYADH appeals as a likely newcomer on paper. He was bought relatively cheaply at the breeze-ups six weeks ago, but there is certainly plenty to recommend him on pedigree (by Mehmas and out of a half-sister to the high-class sprinter Space Blues). It will be interesting to see whether the market speaks in his favour on debut for Karl Burke, who has already saddled 12 individual two-year-old winners this season.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
14:55 – Homer Stokes
HOMER STOKES was gambled on shortly before the off and duly showed fair form to make a winning debut at Wetherby last month. He was never far away and kept going well after hitting the front two furlongs out to win by a length and a quarter. He should improve with that experience under his belt and is fancied to defy a penalty in this novice event to maintain his unbeaten record.
15:30 – Look Out Louis
LOOK OUT LOUIS proved better than ever to resume winning ways at Chester last time, his third success from six starts since joining the Julie Camacho yard. He was always travelling strongly at the head of affairs and showed a good attitude when closed down late on to get the verdict by a neck. This will be tougher from a 3 lb higher mark, but he is clearly going the right way and looks sure to give another good account in a wide-open contest.
16:05 – Shawaamekh
SHAWAAMEKH has been running consistently this season and left the impression he could be ready to end his losing run when beaten less than a length into fourth at Chester last time. A three-time winner earlier his career, he shed his maiden tag over this course and distance and is now 4 lb lower in the weights than when recording his most recent success at Thirsk in August 2019.
16:40 – Cover Name
COVER NAME offered plenty to work on when second on her debut at Brighton two weeks ago, putting in some good late work to pass the post just half a length behind the winner. That form sets the standard in this line-up, while the small ‘p’ attached to her Timeform rating denotes that she is likely to progress further. This looks a good opportunity for her to get off the mark having joined Grant Tuer (formerly trained by Kevin Philippart de Foy) since that promising debut.
17:10 – Dream Point
DREAM POINT is threatening to come good soon and looked an unlucky loser when third on her latest outing at Nottingham, doing well to be beaten just three quarters of a length given how much trouble she met in the straight. She can race from the same mark here and should mount a bold bid to gain compensation if arriving in the same sort of form.
