This looks the perfect trip for NAVAL CROWN, that being a straight 7 furlongs. Charlie Appleby’s colt was Only beaten by a very progressive rival at Ascot last month, and sets a clear standard here based on his three-year-old form. Kevin Manning is certainly an interesting jockey booking and his style of riding will suit our selection perfectly.
MY GENERATION was unlucky in both starts at Leopardstown recently, finding trouble in running and out the back in a race, where it paid to be prominent. The filly’s form has been franked by Joan of Arc winning the Diane Stakes. The drop to 7 furlongs at Fairyhouse should really be no problem for Joseph O’Brien’s charge whatsoever.
FEMALE APPROACH is looking for three on the bounce, after claiming a pair of wins at Limerick and Fairyhouse on consecutive days last month. The Noel Meade-trained filly really has been upwardly mobile since stepping up in trip. She came from the rear and was very powerful late on in her most recent win. She will get more of a pace here, which will help, and looks plenty capable still on a mark of 68.
TERESA MENDOZA seems to be slowly running herself into form and looks well capable of winning here for trainer Ken Condon. Soft ground will be no problem to her either. She will get a clue in to her with Jessie Harrington’s Loch Lein earlier on the cards, but on the basis of her second behind Romantic Proposal at the Curragh a couple of weeks ago, she would look well up to winning this 6-furlong contest.
