ITV coverage Friday gets under way with this handicap over 1m2f. A wide open betting heat. I’m not giving up on KING FRANKEL and will back him once again here, even though he’s more exposed than many. He should have won at Epsom two runs ago and then he never looked like doing much at Royal Ascot but eventually stayed on well behind the re-opposing Foxes Tales. He’s too big a price here not to have a few quid each way on for Mark Johnston and Ben Curtis.
NEW TO PADDY POWER
ITV also cover two from York starting with this handicap over 1m4f. ISPAHAN is a hard horse to weigh up as he’s a bit in and out as far as form is concerned. That said, He has a good run at York this term and might come through strongly for Jamie Spencer and Dave Simcock now that he is back down in trip. An each way player.
Now the Duchess of Cambridge Stakes, a Group 2 over 6f for juvenile fillies. I tipped up Sandrine in this blog in the Albany and was delighted she won at 16-1, but I’m taking her on here with the second that day HELLO YOU. I suspect the pace here won’t be as strong as at the Royal meeting and I think that will suit the Ralph Beckett runner better under Rossa Ryan. She might be held onto a little bit longer as well.
Now the Group 3 Summer Stakes, a Group 3 for fillies and mares over 6f. Conditions are absolutely right for a huge run from ONASSIS for Charlie Fellowes and Hayley Turner. The filly will look to drop in off a strong gallop and come flying through in the closing stages. Her rating of 107 gives her every chance and she loves some juice in the ground.

A handicap here over 1m6f. A good betting heat. The winning run of EAST ASIA came to an end in the Northumberland Plate at Newcastle last time but I’ll try him again here back on turf. Prior to that effort he had been a progressive stayer on turf for Ian Williams and he should give David Egan a fin spin in a very hard race to sort out!
Finally the big one, the Group 1 Falmouth Stakes for fillies and mares over 1m. I’ll stick with the 1000 Guineas heroine MOTHER EARTH back on decent ground for Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore. The filly has ground to make up on Alcohol Free and Snow Lantern from the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot but that was run in heavy and she travelled well for a long way. This is a cracking renewal and a real race to savour.
So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?
