13:45 Circoloco

The Michael Dods-trained filly CIRCOLOCO did well to finish second at York on her recent debut, following a slow start, and with this stiffer track in her favour she can go one better today. Lady Lade also came under early pressure on her debut, responding well to finish a close fifth over C&D, and she is feared most. Hello Jumbo is a possible improver on this second start, while the David O’Meara-trained newcomer Forced Entry is one to watch in the betting.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

14:20 Tudor

Although Madame Bonbon’s close call at Haydock on her second start gives her the best chance on form, TUDOR may well improve past her given the promising amount of ground he made up at Hamilton. Spitting Feathers has the lowest RPR but a big step forward is likely and he is third on the list.

14:55 Jackhammer (NAP)

Solid contestant JACKHAMMER (nap) is taken to win this race for the second time and enhance his good course record. Unexposed rivals Havana Party and Makeen are feared most, in that order. Judged on their soft-ground form here last month, Tangled and Soaring Star would deserve respect if the going softens.

15:30 Chichester

The in-form CHICHESTER posted solid efforts over 1m2f the last twice and should cope with this drop back in trip, having scored over 1m in April. He has major claims with cheekpieces added and gets the vote over Billhilly, who also looks open to further progress. Third choice is Garden Oasis, ahead of Lion Tower, Star Shield then Hayadh.

16:05 Sameem

Several runners are similarly appealing and it’s a tough call but SAMEEM may be the answer, provided he takes well to cheekpieces. He’s nicely treated on his Listed-winning form and represents a trainer who has won this contest twice in recent years. Narrow second choice is Ravens Ark, ahead of Tricorn, Colony Queen, Croeso Cymraeg then Cormier. The last named runner would go higher up the list if the ground softens.

16:40 Thunder Beauty

This could be a good opportunity for Irish raider THUNDER BEAUTY, who has been highly tried since winning on her debut at the Curragh last July. She kept on for a promising sixth in a 6f Group 3 at the Curragh three weeks ago and today’s drop in grade and step back up in trip can be the catalysts for a return to winning ways. The unbeaten William Haggas-trained filly Cloudy Dawn is feared most with the step up to 7f expected to suit, with Illykato, Mamba Wamba and Meu Amor others who could be involved.

17:15 Gometra Ginty

A competitive finale in which an extra furlong asks more of the thriving Pearl Of Qatar. Respect is afforded to Sealed Offer and Golden Melody but the pair to focus most closely upon are the Catterick rivals GOMETRA GINTY and Lead Story. Under positive tactics Keith Dalgleish’s charge always held the upper hand on that occasion, and assuming the ground remains on the fast side of good she could feasibly score again.
